Technology Disconnect
The
hardest part of the technology disconnect was the fact that I started at noon
and ended at noon the following day, and the part when I had to leave work
early because I did not feel very well. I arrived early to pick my daughter up
and daycare was shocked that I did not call to inform them of my short day at
work. I also could not tell my husband that I already picked our daughter up
and was at home most of the day. There really was not a challenging part of the
disconnect because I simply shut off all the devices and had a very quiet day
and evening. I was most surprised about the fact that I felt amazing when I was
done with the entire project and hand wrote all my notes so I could turn everything
in as soon as I am done typing it all up. My husband arrived home and got mad
at me because I was supposed to load the camper so we could take off right
after work the next day. He said he called me three times even though I made
plenty of reminders, and even going as far as writing the message on the
windshield towards the bottom by the door of the car. He forgave me once he saw
I was not feeling well. I told him the phone has been off all day and pointed
at it. He gave me a glass of water and took my temperate. I did not enjoy this
assignment because I feel like I was overwhelmed and stressed out which caused
me to be stressed out. In the end I did the worksheets, had the homework all
ready to go, and spent time with my daughter at the end of the 24 hours. I felt
like a new person when the project was over.
